Whenever I discipline my son, my Australian accent turns into an English one.
I realised this just recently. I think that it stemmed from watching Super Nanny (Jo Frost) when I was pregnant.
I actually liked some of her methods of teaching children not to do silly things like drawing on the walls, swearing and hitting family members. She spoke very clearly to the children (of course, in her English accent). I have unintentionally imitated her.
Anyone else guilty of doing this?
